I finally had some time to check out the new patch myself, so here’s some things I noticed.

New cooking daily quest ain’t that bad - I can finally get some Golden Fish Sticks without actually having fishing. You wouldn’t believe but I actually had a hard time finding Monstrous Kaliri; usually they are the ones trying to find me.

Still didn’t get my Tattered Hexcloth Sack nor have I seen Zul’Aman, but I’m getting close.

It seems Primal Nether can no longer be looted unless you have a profession that can use it.

I played a bit with the guild bank, and claimed the first slot for myself. It’s great not having to relog now to get bandages or potions.

Battleground preparation time is great. Also, there’s always a kind mage now who casts Ritual of Refreshment before the battle begins, so I can easily stack food for the whole day.

I don’t think this was in the patch notes either - trinkets now show cooldown in spell description. A+

The number of Marks of Honor we get in mailbox is now also displayed without opening the mail first. Small change but hey, I noticed!

Daily quests for heroic instances have nice money rewards, but I’d rather get a bonus Badge of Justice instead of Ethereum Prison Key, especially since Mechanar is nerfed. My days of farming consortium reputation are long gone. Actually the quest in this image is for non-heroic instance, that’s why you dont’ get Badge of Justice.
Be careful with the chests in Hellfire Ramparts and Mechanar - supposedly you have to loot them first or you won’t get Badge of Justice. Or something like that. Don’t worry, it will be fixed in 2.4.

I hate it. I hate it I hate it I hate it I hate it I hate it I hate it I hate it I hate it …..

Unfortunately, we don’t get 4000 honor points, but 419 ain’t such a bad bonus either, plus a bit of cash. Too bad it took me 2 and a half hours to win Arathi Basin. I guess alliance started winning more since noob classes like hunters and rogues got buffed (yes, flame me), and oh boy they got plenty of those.

Hehe’s some other posts from the blogosphere which weren’t published in time for my yesterday’s 2.3 impressions.

Now post a comment on this post or I swear my next 10 posts will be rants and whining about hunters!

Damn hunters. Our hunters in my guild are QQ about not being able to feign death and drink in a boss fight anymore. They are calling it a nerf cause now they have to be more mana conscience instead of being able to drink and feed their pet. No one else can stop in a boss fight and drink. why should they?

Hey, the consortium prison key is form the “normal” instance quest, thi s is why you dont get a badge of justice.

@dick

I completely agree. No other classes can drink in combat, and I don’t see a reason why hunters should be able to. They got much love in this patch and are the last ones who should complain. On second thought, rogues should be the last. eh

@wolf

Thanks for clarifying, I knew something’s wrong with that. I’ll fix it in the post

Well, if you had a hunter and had been having fun soloing instances as I have in the past, you’d see how cool double-trapping was!

Yes, I understand that, besides mass-fear that some classes have, all other CC abilities focus on one and only 1 target. Yet, it was fun double-trapping while it lasted! And I have plenty of alts waiting for some love! :)

Also, the thing that actually annoys most hunters is not the “fixes” made, but rather that those “fixes” were NOT present in the PTR and did not even make it to PATCH notes! Kind of feels like they jammed those “fixes” in at the last minute… And managed to screw what I suspected was going to be screwed (path getting behind mobs) even though I was surprised it was working so well in the PTR!

What’s the point of a PTR if not to TEST stuff and get feedback? If they make changes and even introduce bugs between closing the PTR and applying them on the live servers, why bother with the PTR after all?

As for FD+Drink, that’s not a big deal: more mana pots, buffs, party-buffs, more AotV. FD+Pet Feed however is a more worrying issue as that’s 25% less pet damage and for a BM hunter, that’s roughly 10% (TEN!) less overall damage, so that DOES have impact.

Again, this means that healers should focus more on pets and hunters should take more care, but even though those may be “right” because no one else could do such stuff as drink in combat or switch gear in combat, it doesn’t justify implementing them in a rush without testing between closing PTR and going live… It’s almost as if Blizzard was afraid of hunters and had to do those changes behind their backs!

What mod is that - the one that shows +crit, +dodge etcetera? It’s been bothering me since 2.3 came out. I had some mod or *something* that showed all that good stuff on my paladin, but since 2.3 it doesn’t work and I’m not sure what mod it is.

Sorry to ask.

The addon is called RatingBuster.

Wowinterface.com

Curse.com

You can configure it in game by typing /ratingbuster (although I don’t think it takes any changes for it to display rating conversions in tooltips).
