Buffing up for Botanica - Get a Priest

##NOLIGHTBOX##
Doing pugs has its bright sides, you always learn something new. Like this for example.

I was nicely surprised when my boomkin got this huge spell damage boost a few days ago when I went to Botanica. All it takes is one priest to Mind Control a mob named Bloodwarder Mender. There are several of them close to the start of Botanica. While you won’t be able to finish the whole instance buffed with Holy Fury (only lasts 30 minutes), you might save some time and finish it sooner.

Who would guess priests are still useful in groups. ;)

How about you? Any tips for those pesky heroics?

Priests are currently at the top of my list for love. Specifically because my Resto Shaman has been PVPing a fair bit and late last night I was in the fracas trying to help the alliance control the flag-node in the middle of EOTS.

Healing my fingers off. We finally win the fight and off goes our runner with the flag. Only me and Shadow Priest left. The Warrior I kited for a long time while healing came zooming right for me and starts smashing me, using Pummel right as I’m about to pop a quick heal on myself. I’m mostly defenseless( yay, all-nature based spells! ) and then… boom… nothing. He stops. He hops up and down twice then runs off the cliff into the pit to his death.

I look to the left and see the shadow priest standing there innocently. It was so elegant that I just said thanks and asked her to marry me. Unfortunately she wanted 10k gold as a dowry. Altaholics don’t have that kind of cash!

Yep, this skill makes bot hilarious. Fun times with mind control indeed!

Currently I’m running my 2nd level 70 BM hunter with a couple SPriests, and they love to Mind Control. When they’re done, I plant a Freezing Trap, they MC the mob to the trap, release, and a Misdirect to my cat takes care of the aggro.

I have a 70 HPriest, but I never used MC much; guess I need to start practicing. :D

I remember my first full clear of Heroic Bot.

Enh Shaman, Resto Shaman, Tankadin (me), Shadow Priest, and Hunter.

That buff rocked with that group. While the main benefit was for the shadow priest and myself, it’s a big boost to AoE damage and threat for me, and healing/mana return to all from the SPriest.

We rocked that instance… only wiped once, on trash… not even one of the 2-pack pulls we did. ;)

I run Heroic Botanica almost daily on my daily badge grind and more than 70% of the time I have a shadow priest in the group as another DPS/CC with MC.

However I usually have one if possible in any my Heroics run if they available. Just thevwsy it works out for me on my runs. So when in Botanica I always get the Spell DMG buff from the Menders. You be surprised on many my PuG runs how many other caster DPSers dont even aware you can get that buff if you have a Shadow Priest in the group. I’m the tank and often when I tell the SP to MC the Menders they dont even know they could let alone get that buff, most of them are often surprised.

You can learn lots of things when you step outside your guild some time getting different experiences in a PuG.

Actually, you CAN have the buff for the whole run, if you pull quickly and dont wipe. The key is to Mind Control the Mender that the first boss spawns :D
