Brutal vs. Vengeful Comparison

Many players think the new sets look bad, but I kinda like it. Hunter’s really look like clowns though, but that’s what they always look like after trying to kill me. What I hate is the fact they are basically three sets which are just recolored a bit, and the lack of imagination is just terrible.
Looks aside, lets see what stats warlocks will be getting.
Vengeful Gladiator’s Dreadgear (Season 3) combined stats:
Armor: 1903
Stamina: 324
Intellect: 119
Spell Damage: 232
Resilience: 132
Spell Hit Rating: 16
Brutal Gladiator’s Dreadgear (Season 4) has the following stats:
Armor: 1989
Stamina: 364
Intellect: 150
Spell Damage: 265
Resilience: 132
Spell Hit Rating: 20
While I suck at math, this shouldn’t be too hard to calculate. We will be getting a whooping amount of 86 armor, 30 stamina, 31 intellect (we really need that!), 33 spell damage and 4 spell hit rating.
Assuming you use the same weapon, offhand and wand as me…
Brutal Gladiator’s Spellblade has 2 more stamina, 1 more intellect, 1 spell hit rating and 19 more spell damage than Vengeful. S4 Grimoire is better than S3 for 6 stamina, 5 spell damage and 5 spell penetration, which doesn’t even sound so bad. I might be able to put one more spell damage gem rather than penetration. Brutal Gladiator’s Piercing Touch has 1 more stamina, 2 spell damage and 3 spell penetration more than Vengeful.
So, 39 stamina, 86 armor, 32 intellect, 59 spell damage, 5 spell hit rating and 8 spell penetration is all I’ll get for 2200 rating requirement.
I’m not expecting thousands of stamina and hundreds of spell damage, but a bit more defensive stats wouldn’t hurt. While my mortal adversaries rouges (they love it when you write rouges) didnt’ get any armor penetration, they can easily put one more PvE item, thanks to the upgraded PvP trinket.
Oh wait, almost forgot. You can pretty much scratch that 59 spell damage upgrade thanks to the Demonic Knowledge nerf in patch 2.4.
