Eyonix chimed in on the forums today to finally tell us the good news:
We’re currently planning to end the third Arena season and begin Arena Season 4 on June 24, 2008 (that’s June 25th for those of us in EU). This exciting Arena season will introduce the Brutal Gladiator set, and will also allow players to purchase Arena Season 2 items using the honor system. Please note that we will be resetting all Arena team and personal ratings. Players will still retain their Arena points and teams with this reset. The team and personal rating will simply be reset to the default 1500, allowing all teams to once again compete for top honors with a fresh start.
Also, with the end of the third season, players on the top teams from each battlegroup will receive their end-of-season rewards. These include Arena-specific titles that they can display proudly until the end of the new season, and, for the best of the best, an Armored Nether Drake. Please also be aware that with the end of the current season, all previous end-of-season titles will be removed.
While this is great news for those of us who have all the gear for months now, some aren’t looking forward to the new rating requirements, and most classes simply hate how the new items look.
I think I already mentioned a thing or two about the Brutal Gladiator’s Dreadgear stats - that’s not much to look forward to either. Warlocks aren’t getting much, while some other classes have more options for offensive stats due to the new medallion.
Similar to when patch 2.4 went live, there’s potential to make some extra gold, but that post is coming a bit later. Although I usually avoid writing about personal stuff here: I’m really busy lately with some projects so posting is a bit slow - it may get better, yet again it may not. Once again, I’m looking for some help so check it out if you’re interested. I’m thinking of contacting a couple of bloggers directly but I’m afraid they’ll tell me to go screw myself.
For those of you who are reading this via RSS, you might of noticed posts are again set to full, however with first sign of trouble (read: content scraping or Google penalties) they will be changed to partial. Hopefully it won’t come to that.
