5 Things You Don’t Know About Arenas

Ok so maybe you do know it. These aren’t some secrets or anything, but I did pick them up along the way, so I thought it might be useful to someone out there who doesn’t have much arena experience. It won’t increase your ratings, but maybe you’ll win a match every now and then. Who knows…

1. Ruins of Lordaeron - get on the grave

It still amazes me how many people get stuck when trying to LoS, even at higher ratings. It’s almost as funny as seeing someone backpedal. The green arrows mark spots where you can get on the grave, while red obviously mark spots where you can’t. Queue some skirmish games and test it out as long as you need to, but this is one of the basic things you need to know.

2. Ruins of Lordaeron - my favorite healing spots

There’s not much point in doing this unless you’re a druid, but these are awesome spots to unstealth and start healing. You can easily buy yourself five, even ten seconds before your opponents notice you. Obviously it won’t work at 2,000 rating, and there’s also a disadvantage: takes a few seconds to get closer to the grave to be able to break LoS (tombstones don’t break it).

3. Ruins of Lordaeron - pets suck

Yeah, Lordaeron again. When standing in the marked spots, pets won’t attack you. Best drinking spot ever.

4. Nagrand Arena - where’s Freddy?

Freddy is behind the pillar. Can’t you see him? No? Turn on the nameplates. It’s the basic thing if you’re trying to hump pillars. Don’t have a better screenshot except this with my friend’s welfare enhtard, so I don’t know how much it helps. Default keybind to turn name plates on and off is is “V”, and if you hold Shift you can even see friendly nameplates.

5. Blade’s Edge Arena - so long, Jarhead!

Guess what happens when a warrior tries to Intercept you? Yep, he falls down. Some of them learn, some don’t, in which case +12 rating.

Hope it helps. If you got any of your own tips to share, feel free!

In Blade’s Edge Arena I love BM hunters. When you jump down the side the pets take the long way around. This gives the warlock dots a lot of time to work there magic.

Sitting on the side lump-things on BEM and rain of fire or hellfiring at random intervals makes life harder for rogues.

I’m afraid you missed the point :(

Nameplates can be seen through objects and walls, so it enables you to target players and know their exact position; when you’re trying to get away from someone by “humping/huging pillars”, with this you can always know where the player is and try to stick to the opposite side of the pillar.
